I have recently completed
working on a set of
illustrations for
Mary Anne Gruen's book-length
fanfic "The House of Red".
The story is a possible
sequel to the original
10th Kingdom story.
The book in it's entirety,
along with my illustrations
and also a set of
illustrations in watercolor
done by Aqua4tis, is
available for your reading
and viewing now on KingdomsPress.
I have just completed
a section here on the site
where you can see large-size
views of my pictures for "Red"
and read a little bit
about them...Enter Here:

I worked hard on these
illustrations and hope you'll
like looking at them!

I must paint what I love...

"Muchachos Malos" ("Bad Boys")

Acrylic on paper, @ 8"w x 11"h

I painted this little picture in summer 2000, with the intent from the very begining that it should go to Mr. Cohen as a gift. I sent it to his agents both in New York and LA, and each time his agent or publicity person returned the package, unopened! (Why? I have no clue!) But finally; finally, Nea Dodson, president of the Scott Cohen Fan Club, hand-delivered it to him for me in person, on the evening of June 30, 2001, when the club took him to dinner after one of his theatre performances in New York! I hope he likes it!

I painted this with the idea in mind that the character Wolf has been a help both to the wolves in his own world (the world of 10K), and a help to the wolves in this one as well, because I have come to see that this character has raised awareness of the plight of wolves: how they are percieved and treated by humans - not very well usually. This can change here; has to change here, as it seems it will through Wolf's efforts in the Kingdoms. I am happy to say that several donations have been made in the name of the Wolf character to two wolf rescue organizations I am involved with; and from my participation in several 10K/Scott Cohen discussion groups I have seen the members take note of issues relating to wolves that they hadn't been previously aware of. Every little bit helps, and in this case, it's not been a little, but something more than that! Anyway this picture is a sort of thank you gift to Mr.C. for these things.

I had fun painting this picture; with Wolf and a young wolf cooking up, I'm afraid, a little naughtiness. Perhaps they're only going to "pretend to do naughty things" under the almost-Full-Moon...Only they, and that Moon, know for sure!
